1Who we are
Bezalel Press is a small family press in South Africa. We are the "responsible party" under POPIA. This means we decide why and how your personal information is used.

2What we collect
We only collect what we need. Depending on how you use the site, this can include:
- When you write to us: your name, email address, phone number, and your message.
- When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, and what you ordered. We do not see or store your card details. Our payment provider handles them.
- When you create an account: your name, email address, and a password (stored in a form we cannot read).
- When you ask us to print your book: your contact details and the files you send us.
- When you visit the site: basic technical data such as your browser type and pages viewed. We only collect this for analytics if you allow optional cookies.
3Why we use it
- To reply to your messages and quotes.
- To process, print, pack, deliver and invoice your order.
- To keep records that the law requires, such as tax records.
- To keep the site safe and working.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, but only if you accept optional cookies.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to. If we ever do, you can stop it at any time.
4Who we share it with
We share information only with people who help us do the work, and only what they need:
- Payment provider to take payment for your order.
- Courier to deliver your parcel. They receive your name, phone number and address.
- Email service (useSend) to send our emails, such as order confirmations and replies.
- Web hosting and security services to run and protect this site.
- Analytics (Umami) to count visits, only with your consent.
These providers may process information on servers outside South Africa. When this happens, we only use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA. We may also share information when the law requires it.
5How long we keep it
- Messages and quotes: up to 2 years, then we delete them.
- Order and invoice records: 5 years, because tax law requires it.
- Account details: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Print files: deleted after your job is done, unless you ask us to keep them.
7How we protect it
We use secure (HTTPS) connections, restricted access to the admin area, and trusted providers. No system is perfectly safe. If your information is ever compromised in a way that could harm you, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.
8Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent.
- Complain to the Information Regulator.
To use these rights, email info@bezalelpress.co.za. We may need to confirm who you are first. We will reply within 30 days.
9Children
This site is not made for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
10Complaints
Please talk to us first. If you are not happy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
